- I confess, Cristian, I saw and bought your book in the Dollar ! I'm a gringo whose been working on Spanish for over 50 years now and I thought at first glance that your book would be good - at least for my Spanish. I was so happy with your book, that I bought 4 more copies (at ) for gringo friends like myself. I agree with the reviewer above I frequently encountered phrases and idioms that sounded just like English. I thought maybe I was just being exposed to a different brand of Spanish - like a guy from Chile might use. Anyhow, you are correct the average American can learn a lot about Latinos and about themselves from your book (which, of course, is a bit silly in places - but funny and not offensive). Americans need to know that there are serious cultural differences between themselves and Latinos, as well as between Latinos of different countries. You deliver your message with wit and a keen sense of observation. Congratulations on writing this book and on becoming an American citizen. Like many immigrants, you have quickly proven that you are a real asset to this country. Write another book I'll buy it! Rolland Amos, Severn, MD.
- El libro es divertidisimo. Me he reido de lo lindo con las ocurrencias. Claro, algunas cosas son ciertas y otras... quién sabe? no lo he vivido todo.
Lo unico que me saca un poco de onda con el libro es la traducción de Cecilia Molinari del Ingles al Español. Hay veces que me parece que usó un traductor porque las cosas suenan raras en español. Pero si dejo los errores de traducción a un lado y cuando algo no tiene sentido en español lo tradusco al inglés, lo disfruto muchisimo.
